With just two months left before Texworld New York City takes over the Javits Center January 20-22, it’s time to get excited about a full lineup in our educational program. Whatever is happening in textiles, we’re going to talk about it.

For one, experts will be on hand to discuss what global regulations and policies will mean for U.S. brands selling internationally. If 2025 proved anything, it’s that this conversation is more critical than ever. Global trade dynamics and regulatory landscapes are transforming supply chains on a regular basis, so leading experts will discuss regulations in place, as well as those on the horizon, and what companies need to know to navigate it all.

We’ll also have a session focused on operationalizing sustainability in fashion. The era of lofty pledges and glossy reports may be over, so the next decade will be about integration. Fashion companies are learning that sustainability must live inside operations—sourcing, logistics, design, finance—not in a separate department. Panelists in this session will explore key challenges and discuss possible solutions.

Sourcing solutions will also be a topic on deck, with a session exploring how short-term, achievable sourcing and ESG goals can power long-term strategy, where things like compliance, traceability and supplier diversification are foundational tactics.

It wouldn’t be 2026 if we didn’t talk about AI. One panel in our education program will look at how artificial intelligence is reshaping the fashion value chain, from design and production to retail and sustainability. We’ll also look at AI and the new creative process, where dig into the opportunities—like getting product to market faster and more efficiently—as well as the risks—like homogenized product and inauthenticity that leaves the consumer feeling disconnected.

You won’t want to miss any of it!

Trend Moods for S/S27 Announced

On the trend front, Peclers Paris will be at the show to highlight the Spring-Summer 2027 trends set to shape textiles and apparel. Four key seasonal moods—Ergo City, Edgy Glam, Poet Wanderer and Global Citizen—reflect a contemporary vision. For this upcoming season, city wear embraces sporty hybridization and sleek minimalism, casuals are enriched with soulful patinas and raw textures, workwear is reimagined with joyful, pop-art landscapes, and classics are renewed with handcrafted details and a mindful connection to nature.

Sharon Graubard of SG FILES will present her signature “TrendTales,” at the upcoming show, too. For the spring-summer season, The Ripple Effect IV forecast positions evolving trends within the cultural moment. Shifting consumer values shape the narrative, as current concerns

like climate change, radical inclusivity , zero waste and brand ethos inform the way we shop, dress and care for our clothing.

Italian Lab’s Nicki Gondell will also share an SS27 color and trend forecast, with four essential stories through four essential, including: the poetic elegance of the Bucolic, the bold and clashing vibrancy of Electric, the gentle diaphanous nature of Breezy and the warm earthiness of Solaris. You won’t want to miss any of them!

What We’re Reading

The State of Fashion 2026: When the Rules Change
The 10th annual State of Fashion report from McKinsey & Company and BoF Insights outlines the forces that will reshape the industry in 2026 — from escalating trade tensions to rapid technological disruption and shifting consumer behaviors, as outlined in a recent Business of Fashion article. Nearly half of executives expect conditions to worsen next year, with tariffs topping their list of risks. Yet amid uncertainty, opportunity remains: industry leaders overwhelmingly point to artificial intelligence as fashion’s most transformative growth driver, outpacing priorities like product innovation and sustainability.

Fashion's 'Underperforming' Purchasing Practices Struggle Under Tariff Pressures
The latest Better Buying Purchasing Practices Index (BBPPI) makes one message clear: fashion brands must dramatically improve their forecasting if they want to support manufacturers and build truly responsible, resilient supply chains, according to a recent article in Sourcing Journal.

Drawing on feedback from nearly 1,360 suppliers evaluating 35 major brands—from American Eagle, Lululemon and Nike to Patagonia, Target and Inditex — the report finds that while the pandemic-era "acute crisis" of cancellations has eased, structural problems persist. According to Katie Hess of Better Buying at Cascale, brands are now grappling with chronic issues like weak forecasting, unstable order volumes, and ongoing price pressures, signs that progress on better purchasing practices remains frustratingly slow.

Gen X Is Quietly Dominating Luxury. Here's How to Approach Them.
A new global study from OpinionWay, commissioned by Publicis Luxe, spotlights Generation X (those born between the 1960s and 1980), as an influential yet often overlooked force in luxury, according to a recent Vogue Business article. Surveying high-income consumers ages 45–65 across France, the US, the UAE, and China, the report reveals just how much purchasing power this cohort holds—and why brands need a more deliberate strategy to engage them.
