Texworld USA and Lenzing Innovation mark 10 years of dedicated partnership

Feb 29, 2016

Complimentary Seminar Series continues to draw top-notch speakers and eager-to-learn attendees.

Lenzing Innovation Pavilion brings 19 sustainability-focused mills to Texworld USA show floor.

Continuing the fruitful global partnership with Messe Frankfurt’s apparel, home and technical textiles portfolio, Lenzing Innovation returned to Texworld USA this past January with a curated seminar series and a dedicated pavilion on the show floor. This July will mark 10 years of partnership with Texworld USA, during which Lenzing Innovation has remained at the core of the show and has vitally contributed to the brand’s growth through consistent delivery of high quality exhibitors and over 200 educational seminars for industry engagement.

“Since the launch of Texworld USA ten years ago, Lenzing Innovation has been a vital supporter and partner in this event”, said Dennis Smith, President, Messe Frankfurt North America. “Through the impressive quality of textile mills exhibiting in the Lenzing Innovation Pavilion and a prestigious group of speakers recruited for the Lenzing Seminar Series, the North- American team led by Tricia Carey have shown incredible loyalty and support for this sourcing platform.”

Both proved to once again be a big draw for attendees, who were able to take advantage of the complimentary educational sessions and explore all that Lenzing Innovation Pavilion had to offer this January.

Lenzing Innovation Seminar Series showcases expert panels and key topics of interest to the industry

Despite being threatened by a historic blizzard, the Lenzing Innovation organized Seminar Series schedule kicked off on Sunday, January 24th at 12:30 p.m. and featured 11 complimentary educational sessions led by over 25 industry experts over three days. Key topics covered included social media strategies and tips, sustainability and design, fiber innovation, the future of trade and TPP, Spring 2017 color trends, and more. Featured speakers and session moderators included trusted and noteworthy industry professionals, such as Joshua Teitelbaum, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Textiles, Consumer Goods and Materials - US Department of Commerce; Laurie Pressman, Vice President – Pantone; and Arthur Friedman, Senior Editor – Women’s Wear Daily.

Over 500 attendees took advantage of the valuable educational opportunities offered by the series and each session’s expert panel. While all well attended, Winter 2016’s top three most popular sessions focused on color trends and social media. “Spring/Summer 2017: The Color Evolution”, a color trend-focused seminar led by Pantone’s Laurie Pressman; “Driving Social Media to Market Your Line”, a social media marketing focused session; and “Celebrity Photos, Trademarks, and Hashtags - The Dos and Don’ts of Social Media Posting for Fashion Businesses”, a fashion law focused session led by Fashion Law Studio’s founders Katharyn Bond and Nima Katz, drew the most attendees.

“Our always-popular Pantone color trend seminar was once again a hit. We always see interest in fiber innovation and sustainability sessions as well, which I think really speaks to the current needs of the market. We plan on continuing these conversations in July 2016 with more social media and marketing related educational sessions”, said Tricia Carey, Director of Global Business Development, Lenzing Innovation.

In addition to organizing Texworld USA’s complimentary seminar series for the 10th year in a row, Lenzing Innovation also returned to the show floor with a dedicated pavilion featuring 19 exhibitors focused on integrating sustainable fibers into a wide range of product categories. From cotton to functional fabrics and knits to lace, Lenzing Pavilion exhibitors showcased the best use of TENCEL® and Lenzing Modal®.

"I really like that Texworld has a sustainability section in the show guide. It makes it easier to find the companies that offer sustainable products. Usually I have to search online to see which exhibitors are sustainable but it's much more convenient this way. I love the Lenzing Innovation Pavilion, too”, said Gloria Straker, a Senior Designer for Nine West.
